Congratulations to our 2nd and 3rd graders for a wonderful performance on Tuesday. They brought Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie to life in such a fun and entertaining way.
And not only that, all the props and costumes were recycled or reused items and made by the kids themselves, making this show our most environmentally friendly one yet.

Our annual Science Fair was a big success and so much fun!
From robots to volcanoes to bubblesplosion, floating cork, morse code, ocean zones, and colored flowers and celery, we had it all. We are so proud of all of our scientists and the amazing experiments they worked on.
A big highlight was Newton's Arcade designed, built, and managed by our 4th and 5th graders. So much fun for everyone and 4th & 5th graders studied Newton's laws of motion while building their arcade games.
A big THANK YOU to PAC and all volunteer parents for making this year's Science Fair such a success.

We had so much fun meeting some amazing rainforest

We had so much fun meeting some amazing rainforest animals today - a macaw, a spectacled owl, a skink, a porcupine, and an anteater. Thank you, @wildmindscience, for your great presentations. We loved observing the animals and learning about their adaptations and habitats in the rainforest.

Congratulations to our 4th and 5th Grade students for an outstanding performance on Friday!!
Our drama teacher, Jordan Emmart, who together with TA Lucy Kramer and Ezra Kramer worked with the students, explains Mulberry's theater program:
"Mulberry theater is a process-oriented program, which means we focus on teaching our student the "Why" behind the "What." What are we doing? Putting on a play. Why? To tell a story. Then we go into the "How." In a stage production we use our words, our bodies, lights, sound, props, costumes, and a set.
For this show, every student was part of a team that took on one aspect of the stagecraft. We worked together to use all of those elements to tell a story.
The students were studying the mystery genre in Language Arts so we also used the play as a vehicle to enhance and make tactile their understanding of mystery as a literary genre."

We are looking forward to our 4th/5th Grade Play, a Mulberry production entitled "Red Hare-ing." Join us tomorrow at 9:30 am for this 45-minute mystery.
Under the guidance of our amazing drama teacher, Jordan Emmart, the students have been hard at work writing the script, designing the sets and costumes, and setting up lights and sound.

After rain there's a rainbow, after a storm there's calm...
We are grateful that everyone in our school community stayed safe during the storm.
Thank you to our faculty, staff, and volunteer parents for weathering this storm with us. While we lost power and heat for some time on Wednesday, we are glad we could keep our school open for our students and families.
A big thank you to our preschool team for handling the storm and a flooded classroom with such grace and positivity, and to our preschool parents for the support and understanding.

Every year, we choose a different charity to support during the month of November as part of our community ThanksGIVING. Past drives have supported the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, The African Library Project, and HomeFirst of Santa Clara County.
This year, KAFPA of Santa Clara County was chosen and our community came together to collect pajamas for foster children and teens in Santa Clara County.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and donated pajamas. And thank you to our students for the beautiful cards and pictures that went along with the donations.

Mulberry School ThanksGIVING Pajama Drive to Support KAFPA
Every year, the Mulberry School community gets together to celebrate Thanksgiving by GIVING. This year's chosen beneficiary is @KAFPAofSantaClaraCounty. KAFPA provides support and advocacy for the needs of kinship, adoptive, and foster families throughout Santa Clara County.
From November 7th - 18th, Mulberry is hosting a Pajama Drive to support KAFPA and local foster children. If you don't have children at Mulberry School but would like to support this drive, your pajama donations can be dropped off in the office!
Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers and share this post! Let’s rally together to make a difference!
What to donate:
• ONLY new pajamas with tags still attached and/or in their original packaging (Please do not wrap in wrapping paper!)
• NO previously worn pajamas
• NO infant girl pajamas are needed
• MOST NEEDED: toddler, elementary and teen pajamas
