To become acquainted with Mulberry School is to enter a truly unique educational community of gifted, committed educators, and actively engaged parents, together creating a nurturing environment for children. With a Ph.D. in psychology and more than fifteen years working in education, I understand the critical importance of a child's school experience in the development of excited, engaged learners. We are proud of what we offer at Mulberry School, not only for the quality of our academic program, but also for the strong character and interpersonal skills we nurture in our students.
Mulberry students love school! Our children arrive in the morning excited to see their friends, offering hugs in greeting to their teachers, skipping into classrooms in anticipation of the day ahead. Our 21st Century Curriculum integrates the best of educational and developmental brain research, teaching children the way they learn, with multimodal techniques geared to a range of learning styles. Students are provided a solid foundation in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies, with additional skill development embedded into activities such as art, music, physical education, and even pottery, sewing, cooking and gardening. A Mulberry education is active and hands-on, fully engaging each child as they learn about the world around them.
Dedicated to educating the whole child, the Mulberry experience additionally fosters social and emotional development. As a Positive Discipline school, we help children understand that “to err is human”, that every mistake, every error in judgment is an opportunity to learn and grow. We teach children skills from which they can draw when adults are not around, such as effective problem solving and how to reconcile misunderstandings.
Mulberry students learn to take reasonable risks, to rise to challenges placed before them, and to treat others with respect and kindness. Our students are strong communicators with exceptional interpersonal skills who are well prepared to enter the most competitive middle school programs in our area.
As a mother of three who is also a Mulberry parent, I have experienced first-hand how effectively our students learn. I personally invite you to come and experience for yourself our community of excited, engaged learners. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you about how your own son or daughter would benefit from a Mulberry education.
