Preschool Camps 9:30am-1:00pm
Ages 3-5 years old
June 21-25, July 6-9* (Tues-Fri), July 19-23, & August 2-6: Preschool Adventures
Every day is an adventure, with surprises around each corner! One day we might be camping, the next day putting on a puppet show, and the next day traveling to space. Our Preschool Adventures camps are all taught by one of our Mulberry preschool teachers and provide safe play-based environments for kids to “hang-out”, enjoy new friends, and have fun in new ways every day.
Elementary Camps 9:30am – 2:30pm
For children entering grades JK-K
June 21-June 25: Dr. Seuss
This camp is unlike any other; don't ask me why, go ask your mother! Spend a week immersed in a Seussical world. It was a counselor and camper favorite in its inaugural year, and it's sure to be yours too. Each day will have a different theme, and the week will build on Seussian fun with a project of Onceler proportions. So if Yertle, Sneetches, or the Lorax mean anything to you, come play at this camp.
June 28-July 2: Let’s Build It!
What can't we build with? That may be the question you come home asking at the end of this camp. Use Legos, wood, blocks, sticks and stones, newspaper, cardboard, and whatever else we might find to construct. We may even take things apart just to rebuild them, or to use the parts to build something new. Only your imagination will limit the possibilities of your creations.
July 6-July 9* (Tues-Fri): Books Come Alive
Our young campers may not all be reading yet, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love books. Spend a week exploring favorite characters, settings, and plots from favorite authors. One day might be inspired by Roald Dahl, while the next could be making up poetry like Shel Silverstein, or creating collage art like Eric Carle. Come and be immersed in the fabulous world of books.
July 12-July 16: Roxaboxen Jr.
This classic Mulberry camp, based on the book, Roxaboxen, by Alice McLerran and Barbara Cooney, has been tailored to meet the needs of our younger participants. We’ll assist campers as they make houses, create businesses, and shop using pebbles as currency. This younger version is just enough of our most popular camp to give campers the Roxaboxen experience without being too overwhelming.
July 19-July 23: Water, Sand, & Dirt
Only at Mulberry would one of our most popular camps be named "Water, Sand, & Dirt." After all, what better way is there to spend a hot summer week than by building sandcastles and waterways, floating boats, making mud-pies, and running in the sprinklers. If it involves using water, sand, and/or dirt, you can bet it will happen this week. Oh, yeah, and we also learn a lot about earth science while we’re playing!
July 26-July 30: Pirate Jr.
Since everyone has a little pirate in them, we've created Pirate Jr, a younger version of our Pirate camp for our early elementary swashbucklers. Dig for gold, make a treasure map, cook real hard tack for your crew, and be captain of your own ship! You may want to adopt a parrot and visit “Ye Olde Tattoo Shoppe” to create your own pirate look, or you can spend time burying treasure and creating a map so your mates can find it. We do most of what the bigger pirates do, but we save the Great Bloody Battle for the older campers.
Aug 2-Aug 6: Wonderful World of Games
Games are all around us and come in so many forms we may not even be aware of them. Spend this week learning and playing board games, outdoor games, and team sports. Last year, campers made up their own games and taught them to their friends. We'll practice all of the skills it takes to be a team player and a good sport, and we'll have fun along the way.
Aug 9-Aug 13: Arts and Crafts
Let your creative spirit run wild at this fun project-based camp. Last year, campers made their own pillows, mosaic tiles, and aprons, and then put them all on display at our inaugural Friday art show. This is a great opportunity to try a new handy craft or perfect an old one. This is definitely one camp where you'll need to clear some shelf space at home to display your camp projects!
Elementary Camps 9:30am – 2:30pm
For children entering grades 1st through 3rd
June 21-June 25: Lights, Camera, Action!
Were you born to be a star? Do you dream of costume design or building beautiful sets? In Lights, Camera, Action! Camp we will take you from the first production meeting to opening night. We will read vocal scores, learn choreography and practice scenes from some of today’s most popular musicals. We will then end the week with our own performance for all of our fans!
June 28-July 2: Wizards
If the wizarding world sounds like a great place to spend a week, then join us for potion making, spell casting, and old-fashioned magical fun. Witches, wizards, warlocks and yes, even muggles are welcome to sign up. But please, leave your garden gnomes at home; they make such a terrible mess!
July 6-July 9* (Tues-Fri): Camping
After the success of last year’s camping week, we're bringing it back this year! We'll pitch tents and enjoy the fun during the day, and then sleep restfully in our own beds each night to come back refreshed and ready to cook pancakes and s'mores, or take a hike up to the creek at Belgatos Park. This is the easiest camping trip you'll ever not have to pack for!
July 12-July 16: Roxaboxen
Without a doubt, this unique Mulberry camp is a runaway classic and yearly favorite of our campers and counselors. It is based on the book, Roxaboxen, by Alice McLerran and Barbara Cooney which tells the fictional story of an Arizona town made completely by children from crates, rocks, and fantasy. We bring the book to life on our campus as children build homes, open businesses, and work through the dilemmas of city management, entirely from their own imagination! Every year brings new twists on the old Roxaboxen magic; last year the kids brought back Friday’s talent show. We will combine this age group's camp with that of the older kids to form a fabulous city like no other.
July 19-July 23: Messy Science
Hey, young scientists, roll up your sleeves and try this camp! You may try mixing up a batch of mud and glue to make your own messy muck. Stir up a batch of detergent and glue to make some slimy goop. If you like to experiment, to figure out what happens when substances combine, and to make messes, this is the week for you.
July 26-July 30: Pirate Camp
No summer would be complete at Mulberry without pirates. Come join yer fellow pirates as we sail the Mulberry Seas in a fun-filled week of treasure hunting, map making, and swashbuckling. Pirate Camp is not for the weak of heart; the Great Bloody Battle will take place with the whole crew, so prepare yerself to take on your mates. In quieter moments you might eat a lime, adopt a parrot, or just sing some salty songs.
Aug 2-Aug 6: Peace, Love, and Ice Cream
This camp debuted last summer to thunderous applause. You will celebrate all that is good and fun in the world including tie dye, cooperative games, enjoying nature, and creating a simple week-long society in which children are "free to be you or me." Last year’s group made a solar oven and cooked Friday’s lunch on it and participated in a successful peaceful protest. What’s in store this year?
Aug 9-Aug 13: Roxaboxen
It’s an encore week of our runaway favorite classic camp. Elementary Camps 9:30am – 2:30pm
For children entering grades 4th through 6th
June 21-June 25: Creative Cooking
Last year's campers cooked, baked, washed dishes, and performed experiments. This year we'll have fresh new recipes and ideas as we utilize our wonderful Mulberry kitchen. We will be using knives and heat, so campers must be willing and able to work safely and follow instructions. Although we will be eating what we make, please don't forget to pack lunch and water.
June 28-July 2: World Records
A brand new camp joins our line up this year, and it’s all about making and breaking records. If you like to see who is the fastest, largest, biggest, or longest then come to World Record Camp. You can create your own record on Monday and then break it by Friday.
July 6-July 9* (Tues-Fri): Book Club
Come and celebrate your favorite literary characters in our Book Club summer camp. Everyday we will enter a new world of fun delving into the works of authors such as J.K. Rowling, Dav Pilkey, and Shel Silverstein. Spend a day solving mysteries with Encyclopedia Brown or write your own “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” A love of books is all that's needed for this camp.

July 19-July 23: Star Wars
May the Force be with you as we travel to galaxies far, far away in search of the best way to play Star Wars this summer. Every year this camp proves to be more fun than tickling a Wookie. You may build your own light saber, design your own character with a unique costume, or create a Mulberry Star Cantina. Whether you are a Jedi Knight or a Sith Lord, we know you’ll have fun.
July 26-July 30: Inventions & Explorations
Calling all campers with lots of ideas, who need a place to make them happen. That's what we'll do all week in Inventions and Exploration camp. Here you can take the blender apart, combine glue and purple paint, or construct the longest paper clip chain ever and you'll be cheered on the whole way. We may take a hike backwards to see things in a new way or create art using the sun, and we'll be inspired by some of our favorite inventors, such as Thomas Edison and Michaelangelo.
Aug 2-Aug 6: Outdoor Adventures
Old-fashioned summer always involved some sort of outdoor adventure, and this year at Mulberry we’re going to have some adventures of our own. It might include taking a hike to Belgatos Park, creating your own team sport and teaching it to your friends, or learning how to make ice cream in a tin can. The fun of summer exploration and adventure will be the theme of everyday in this camp.
